Key West Fishing Report - January 2007
It sure is nice to be back in the Keys After a nice long summer in Tennessee the clear waters of the Keys is a welcome site. We were able to get out the day before Christmas and found a little grouper while casting a plug over a channel. We released him in the hope of letting him get a bit bigger, kept plugging away and were rewarded with some nice cudas. Chad and Jim were all smiles.

As the day went on we had some nice shots at permit. Chad hooked up and then the hook pulled, so the fish was gone just as fast as he had appeared. At one point we were surrounded by 7 or 8 sharks, mostly black tips and lemon sharks. It is a real turn on to see in 2 feet or less of water. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted a very large and aggressive something. It turned out to be a 6 foot bull shark coming in very fast. He soon spooked every one off the flat and we headed on back. If you get a chance to come down this way please look me up.
